HARRISBURG – Rep. Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Indiana/Butler) joined his House colleagues on Thursday night in approving a House resolution to terminate the business shutdown across Pennsylvania by ending a portion of the governor’s emergency declaration.

House Resolution 836 leaves in place the state’s emergency declaration and ensures nursing homes and long-term care facilities can continue to receive the added assistance they desperately need. The resolution would end Wolf’s executive order to regulate so-called non-life-sustaining businesses differently than those business operations he deemed life-sustaining.

“The governor unilaterally chose winners and losers on a whim,” Pyle said. “His waiver program was fraught with problems and allowed some businesses to get waivers to operate while identical businesses were told no. I hear daily from hard-working residents of the 60th Legislative District who still have not been able to collect unemployment. It is time to let everyone get back to work and return to activities they enjoy.”

The resolution now advances to the Senate for further consideration.
