The Honorable Jeff Pyle,
Pyle Lauds Indiana County's National Recognition

Rep. Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Indiana) today applauded Indiana County’s ranking as one of the top 100 places to live and raise children in the United States.

“It is an honor to represent an area that has been acknowledged nationally,” Pyle said. “It takes cooperation from everyone throughout the county to receive this type of recognition.”
Ranked by America’s Promise Alliance, Indiana County was recognized for its commitment to provide several opportunities for its young people to grow and develop along life’s path, reaching adulthood with confidence, strength, values and skills.
In a continuing effort to keep the district a desireable place to live, Pyle presented a grant of $15,000 to the Marion Center Area Little League to help repair damage to the ballpark in Creekside. He presented the grant to Kami Anderson, director of the Armstrong/Indiana Drug and Alcohol Commission. The Commission helps to create programs that guide kids away from drugs and alcohol. Representative Pyle serves as the Republican Caucus’ chairman on the Drugs and Law Enforcement Task Force.
“It was a pleasure to work with Kami and the Marion Center Little League,” Pyle said.
“It wouldn’t have been possible without Republican Leader Sam Smith’s help. Playing ball in the summertime at the refurbished field in Creekside should bring a lot of joy to a lot of kids and hopefully teach them the skills they’ll need to avoid using drugs.”
“This is a community,” said Smith, “that still holds to values embodied in that 1970’s TV ad that used the marketing jingle ‘baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet’.  Helping the Marion Center Area Little League continue the tradition is just basic patriotism and we are glad to play a part in their success.”
