Pyle Announces Summer Employment Opportunities With PennDOT & Turnpike Commission

Rep. Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Indiana) announced today that applications for summer employment with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation are available at his district offices.   

Turnpike positions available include toll collectors, maintenance personnel and clerical assistants.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older before being employed by the Turnpike Commission and are not required to be college students.  Toll Collectors must be available to work any of the three (3) shifts over a twenty-four (24) hour period, including Saturday, Sunday and holidays.  The pay for this position is $10 an hour, 40 hours per week and no benefits.  Maintenance and clerical positions pay $9.50 per hour.  The program is limited to 16 weeks per employee.  Pyle noted applications must be received in his office no later than March 9, 2007. 

Applicants for summer employment with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) also must be at least 18 years of age and be enrolled in college for the upcoming fall semester.  The positions are full-time, pay $10.99 per hour and last for the duration of the summer.  Applicants are encouraged to bring a resume along when completing the necessary forms.
